REIKI is a universal life force energy.
It is a transcendental energy which activates the innate energy that
exists in everything to promote wellness and healing on all levels of
the physical body, the mental and causal bodies, and the spiritual
being. This energy transcends the personality (personal aspect); thus it
cannot be influenced by human feelings, beliefs or emotions.
The word REIKI comes from the Japanese and means universal life energy.
REI describes the universal and limitless aspect of this energy, while
KI represents the life force in all living things. The KI is the same
energy that is known as Chi by the Chinese, Prana by the Hindu and Mana
by the Kahunas.
The origin of REIKI dates back 10,000 years to the ancient history of
Japan, Egypt and China/Tibet. REIKI assists the body in healing itself
and is totally natural and holistic. It balances the body’s energies,
bringing the mind, body and spirit into proper alignment.
To understand how REIKI actually affects the body, we need to understand
the science of vibration and energy, namely:
1. Everything is composed of a single basic function - energy.
2. The highest form of energy we know is Light.
REIKI is light energy. Through the application of REIKI, we are actually
renewing and rejuvenating our cells with the highest form of their basic
substance.
The physical body contains a system of organs which metabolize food or
turn it into a form of energy that can be utilized by the human body. We
also have a system of spiritual or etheric organs, called chakras. These
metabolize energy directly and pass it on to the body through channels
called nadis. It is these nadis, or meridians, that are used as
guidelines by acupuncturists.
The application of REIKI begins a process of self-transformation and
enlightenment. A treatment is given by hands being placed on or over a
chakra or other point. No clothing is removed during a treatment.
REIKI is a wholing process which brings with it physical, emotional and
mental health. In using REIKI we begin to clear away the old thought
patterns and begin to resolve the conflicts we have created within our
lives.
Because dis-ease is a process, coming out of the process may appear as a
temporary worsening of the condition or illness. This may be termed a
‘healing crisis’. Symptoms may include increased mucous secretion,
watering eyes, diarrhea, fever and increased urinary output. These are
the body’s ways of secreting and eliminating poisons from the system.
They represent a natural cleansing process.
Dr. Rosseland has a REIKI Master/Teacher level of certification.
